Garden design and painting: Raising awareness of your connection to nature

Garden design, then painting:
Raising your awareness
 of your connection
to nature

Use this awareness
to design a garden
then paint that garden

2 field trips :   Charco El Ingenio, private local garden

In Japan, a forest bathing trip, called Shinrin-yoku in Japanese, is a short, leisurely visit to a forest and is regarded as being similar to natural aromatherapy.   Here we chaparral ‘bathe’ in both the Charco del Ingenio and later a private garden, breathing in the volatile essential oils, learning to identify why and what and how, all the while increasing our sensitivity to our relationship with ... and  those among ... plants.  Then we use this new found understanding, combined with fractal geometry, to design a garden, which we will then paint.

Born in Caracas, Isabel Zerpa is a Venezuelan architect who now lives in San Miguel Allende.  Her Master’s degree is in Landscape with an emphasis on Garden Design. Her slogan is "more green, more well-being."   Isabel utilizes fractal geometry in her architecture and landscape design. Fractal organization is the language and mathematical patterns that Nature uses to express life. Isabel’s research led her to study the biological response of humans when they come in contact with nature.  Knowing that our well being is often disturbed by environmental stress conditions, she wanted to know how nature and it’s designs impacts the state of mind favoring and restoring an emotional sense of the positive.
Information on the fractal nature of life can be reviewed here
